Money is only the mobile representation of work. lust for the control/power it can purchase is the only aspect of it that may be considered evil, that and debt.

The original sentence is often misconstrued. The 'love' of money is the root of all Evil, not actual money. Its an old Bible quote that was passed down and changed through the times (I'm not a religious type, but I did know that!)
