is it cool if I use this image in my photo collage for school? They said I can't do any copyright stuff and I would get docked heavely if I did. Its just for a school project. please answer soon =)

Well, this is copyrighted stuff really. Robert Atkins (the artist) retains the rights to the work, and Marvel retains the rights to the characters. If you get docked for copyrighted work, this won't do you any favours i'm afraid! :/

Ask Robert though and see what he says (link is in the description).

yeah my class says they have to have a free to mix thing and this site is no copyright and stuff and if I do any copyright then I get docked a lot of points.

Most of this site is copyrighted works actually... nearly everything in my gallery is copyrighted to publishers like DC, Marvel, Habro or Mattel. You need to look for things drawn by people that have never been used for any commercial purposes, and who are willing to let you use their work.

Not really, as this work is copyrighted to Marvel, you need an unlicensed character to avoid major copyright issues.

Love the character! Love your work on this one my friend! I miss seeing your work on my work, but I am Super happy everything is going well for you. You appear to be super busy (me too:faint:) which is great. Maybe one day when you get a crack of time we can collab again. Until then, keep pumping out the great stuff.:)

Thanks man, i'm slowly getting through everything at last. Being on a book and project stuff was just killing me for doing anything personal or for fun. So many half finished pieces that will need a start over. I'm just sooo slow haha :D

I was gonna have a crack at this too - got it flatted but don't think I've really made a start on the toning. Really nice work he tho, man. Is that a new texture you've made? Gives it a really sorta painterly feel.

Thanks man. Same old texture i'm afraid, I cant find one that I want to use more at the moment, seems to fit the bill for me everytime. I just tweak it abit differntly for the piece. I think I just tightened the rendering a bit more (I might have rendered it all whilst the texture layer was on, i'm liking doing that right now!)

Yeah, I've kinda got into that habit too. Both just using that texture as default and leaving it on while I do my rendering. Even started doing most of my effects stuff first too - I find you end up doing less actual rendering work, but it's perhaps even more effective.

Really need to get around to making up some more textures tho! ^_^

Yeah, I do my effects, lights and holds first before rendering (I can go back and tweak the holds, but at least they are out of the way), That way your reder is usually much more approprate. How many times have I rendered some beautiful muscles and faces, only obscure them at the last minute with some lighting overlay or effects... takes some time out of the process definitely :D

I made 1 texture the other day, mixed up a few and tweaked the shit out of it. Looks okay, but its nothing special, just another overlay really! I need some more paint/ink splash textures, but i'm lazy :D

I'm working on a new general-purpose texture brush. I had a really nice one just before my last re-install, but I stupidly forgot to save my brushes before I formatted and now I can't remember how the hell I made it! I was quite happy with that texture I made for Spidey's costume in my battle-entry tho - I used one brush I had from somewhere else to do a textured shadow, then made an inverse brush of the same texture for the highlights. Think that approach might work out quite well for a few different things once I refine it a bit.

Yeah, that brush is cool. I never use texture brushes anymore. I render the area in, select the range I want then apply the texture in the range only (usually 20-80% midrange tones, no highlights, no shadows), lets me worry less about how the hell I made a brush (saving a brush, I never remember... or my palette haha!)

I have 3 colours in my swatch pad lol! I forget to name them, and most used to be so similar it was a bit redundant for me!!

I'll have to make a start on some brushes soon, as i'm fast running out of enthusiasm for just the overlay or range technique!

Hhmmm, interesting - might have to play with that range-texture thing. And yeah, the only colour I have in my swatches is 60/40/40 in case I need to trap pages. Oh, unless I ever have an excuse to throw out that old-school palette again - that was fun! ^_^
